Sky Ryders of Kansas City

This is the TENTH year for the Sky Ryders Winter Guard.  As Kansas City's only Independent Winter Guard, we provide the opprotunity for individuals who have graduated from high school or whose own high schools do not have such a program.  Auditions for the Winter Guard season are held in October.  The season runs from October through April.  The group's members represent both Kansas and Missouri.  Members are between the ages of 15 to 22, with the average age being 18.  Beginning in November, the Winter Guard members practice on weekends to prepare their competitive show and begin performing in February.

Primary Goal 

As a youth based organization, it is our primary goal to provide our participants with an activity that gives them an opportunity to grow as individuals as well as to have an enjoyable experience and outlet for artistic expression.

The Sky Ryders of Kansas City, sponsored by the Rainbow Boosters, INC. is a non-profit organization that must rely on fundraising to provide equipment, transportation, staff salaries and other needs.  The members of Sky Ryders pay a fee to help defer these costs, but these funds are only a part of the cost required to maintain and support the Sky Ryders organization.  IT is hoped that one day these fees can be reduced as many of our members are in college and/or have a limited income.  The Sky Ryders of Kansas City is incorporated in bothe Kansas and Missouri and the Rainbow Boosters, INC. is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
